Setting aside, the profoundly stupid idea that reducing an image size, until you are forcing the same number of pixels into a frame 20% of original source's size, will result in a better quality image than even a 100% size increase from original source. Thereby destroying those details & creating a pixelated image. The pixelation you are complaining about from enlarging an image, will still occur if you reduce the image in size especially in the dimensions that you are talking about.īecause, as you reduce the image from an ever larger source, you are compressing an ever increasing number of pixels into the same space.

:o I just want to test the size and I can't figure out the life of me what the formula is to just.xD Make it compatible with rpg maker mv.Originally posted by dartusf:no.If i take a little sprites ( 48x48) and i resize it to (96x96) i lose quality cause it will be like if i zoom it and see all the pixel. And if i take a sprites like ( 480x480) and i resize it to (96x96) it wont look like its zoom and full pixel. Or maybe this size, except of course, remember there will be 4 more rows of each for the diagonal ups and downs rights and lefts. Say I wanted something close to this size((Ignore the rez, it's by mana seed and I'm going to be drawing over/editing them)) Just not sure about what my canvas size should be for the sprite, or what size the sprite sheet should be, since none of the sizes seem to work. Is the one that worked, but I want to make different sized sprites for my game and I cannot figure out what the size of both the sprite, how many rows/ columns is allowed or not allowed. I would have them all in rows much like this picture ((I did a second labeling to help)) This picture ex. So If I make my custom sprite, for example a 96 height by 48 wide, I know how I would set up the order, just like above((since it ran perfectly)) But how big should the sprite document be? I keep seeing tutorials where it says 'your sprite can be any size you want' but I cannot figure out to actually get it to be functional. It works fine, all the extra frames, diagonal movement, I go to test other totally different sprites ((Because i'm going to be making custom ones)) and I can only figure out sizing for default RPG maker mv, and in tutorials everyones just showing the generic 3 frame ones where you do the $ in front, which does not apply hear no work with/ diagonal frames.

If you are also using my 'Diagonal Movement' plugin, put this ABOVE it. Need to include %(x) where x is the number of frames per character in it.įor example, a characterset with 8 frames per character could be named like:

To make a charset use more than 3 frames per character, in the filename you So this is my only sprite sheet example that seemed to work, also the only documentation is:
